LENNY AND THE 45'S
The legendary rock and blues club -- The Stanhope House - will host the first annual OPERATION CHILLOUT Homeless Veterans Benefit Show, Saturday, November 12 from 1 to 6 pm. Nov. 12, 2011.
OPERATION CHILLOUT is a New Jersey based, not for profit volunteer outreach founded in 2000 dedicated to ending homelessness. A primary target is military service veterans who have defended the streets of our nation and are now living on them due to the traumas of war. OPERATION CHILLOUT teams find homeless veterans outdoors in fields, under railroad trestles and bridges, camping near waterways, at soup kitchens and temporary shelters. A Rapid Response Unit serves homeless vets 24/7 binging them hope and emergency survival gear - new warm clothing, footwear, toiletries, legal advocacy, Veteran's Administration housing info and referrals to other rehab services. Recently, a Sussex County homeless Navy veteran and his pregnant wife referred to OPERATION CHILLOUT were rescued off the streets and provided long-term shelter and temporary economic assistance. They just had a son named Andrew.
