Lionhead Studios presents a sonsofawitch production.

A short animated World War II drama made with Lionhead's 'The Movies' PC game and it's 'Stunts and Effects' expansion pack, based on the Battle of Peleliu, 1944.

In 1944, American forces set off for Peleliu, a small Pacific Island under Japanese control during World War II. The Americans expected little resistance. They were wrong.

Any historical innacuracy is due to the limitations of the game, not stupidity or laziness. Please understand this before making comments on its authenticity please.

  • only one of the japanese had the right uniform

  • @payton34best actually, none of them did. Sadly the software I used to make this only had uniforms from the European/Russian theatres, but I really wanted to make this. The costumes you see are from WWI and Vietnam.

  • what the the 1st marine division landed on peleliu not the 69th/ 35th infantry division and the leader is wearing a vietnam era helmet cover with a 506th spade on it? very inaccurate and peleliu was a desert island not a jungle. and there was heavy enemy opposition on the beach landings

  • @infantryfilms2nd Sadly, the game is restricted in uniform insignias, so no marine badges. I don't know why i put the 'nam era helmet there, possibly just to make the character to stand out more. I'm aware of the barren landscape of peleliu, but the only desert on the game is a wild west one with cacti etc, so that would be stupid, right? I changed the construct to give it a better story, it can be hard to make a decent war film on this game. Thanks for the input.

  • @rak1445 An actor only holds a gun if he/she is in a scene where a gun features, and he is occupying the ragdoll holding it.

You can change the gun by clicking on the props button (along the right hand side of the custom scripwriting screen) and selecting one from the menu.

You can give actors various costumes by dragging 'them' from the left hand side of the scriptwriting screen onto the coat hanger on the right side. Guns, costumes and scenes need to be unlocked in campaign however.

  • Amazing game. Check out my mini-series trailer on my channel. It's called Life changes. I am very thankful if you have some time to check my trailer out. I am thinking to make episodes , but i need watchers. thanks for attention!
