This interview made me think a great deal about how I teach and test myself. I agree in general with her comments about NCLB. However, I think that she is overly critical of the Educational Testing Service. They do not release those tests to teachers precisely because they want them to be nationally objective. I think that they are actually making too much of their test materials available, so that it is possible for teachers to teach to the test.

This is an awesome interview. It's only had 44 views so far and I doubt many of those viewers watched this all the way through. All the media will obsess over what stupid thing Palin just said or which pundit has been suspended, but important issues like this barely even get noticed. This author is speaking truth which is precisely why the mainstream media would prefer to ignore it.
