  • I love the idea of recycling old fencing or decking to make a raised bed. I was wondering, since you don't always know what has been put on it, such as paint or sealers, is there a concern about something leeching into the soil and then possibly into your plants, if this kind of wood is used?

Love your videos! I always look forward to them. Thanks!

  • I would run the reused fence boards thru a planer with vacuum attachment) to remove all that stuff before using them. I would not sand it all off, it would get too messy and create lots of dust. Of course, do the best you can do to start growing. IF you dont have a planer, then try to find reused boards that have no coatings. Fence boards cost about $2 each at the hardware store, so they are not too expensive anyway, get them if you are really concerned.

  • I used a SCARER (hawkbirdscarer. com ) it costs nothing and you set it up once and it scares the rodents and birds instinctively. It works! So no killing, no pesticides, no collateral damage, nothing! It's perfect. Hope this helps

  • do you have any videos on rhubarb trying to get as much info and very small spaces, thing that can be move to a different location and not wasting materials and money

  • We had to trap several ground hogs and move them across the Charles river to grow anything.

  • Hey your videos are so great who cares if you mess up a couple of words. Thanks again for all your informative videos. The only think that bothers me is talking to someone who says the word "like" in every sentence. Like you know what I mean :)
