  • im sorry lady but you are completely missing the idea of しゃぶしゃぶ, which is meant to be a cheap, but satisfying meal that also offers the experience of being able to cook at the table while you eat. What you have done is turn it into a fancy way to cook a slice of meat while you prepare all this nonsense on the side.

    The very fact that you used a fork to "swish" the meat around, shows how oblivious you are to the cultural element of the dish, which should not be ignored when preparing such dishes

  • Very cool idea being able to grill while cooking the shabu-shabu. And those omelets looked killer.

    I've never seen shabu-shabu broth with so many chunky ingredients. Often I just see water with a big piece of kombu, and the broth becomes more complex as it takes on the flavors of the foods you cook. I might have to get a little experimental with my broth!
