"Catie, wake up," Brittany was slightly shaking Catie, who was sleeping high, in a small bunk. Catie opened her sleepy eyes and looked around. Brittany was standing next to her with a steaming cup of Starbucks coffee in her hands. Brittany smiled and stepped backward to let Catie slide out of the bunk. Her bare feet hit the ground with a thump. She wobbled then stood up straight and took the cup of coffee from Brittany. "Thanks," she said then took a long sip then gave the cup back to Brittany and looked around.
"Where are Ali and the boys?" Catie asked and looked back at Brittany.
"Present!" Ali exclaimed and skipped around the small corner from the bathroom. She was already dressed and had her hair up in a tight ponytail. She was wearing a pair of dark purple skinny jeans from Hot Topic and a white button down shirt with a lime green cami underneath and dark blue converse.
"Only you can pull that outfit off, Ali," Catie said with a smile and added,
"but, were still missing some Jonas boys," and playfully pouted. Ali covered her mouth and giggled.
"Well then, put this on and meet us outside," Brittany threw some clothes at her and smiled. Then, Brittany and Ali scampered away and Catie heard the door slam shut.
~Fifteen Minutes Later
Catie glanced to her right and saw a silver SUV making its way across the empty parking lot. Her heart skipped a beat. She could see a curly-headed boy in the passengers seat smiling at her as they pulled up next to where they were sitting on the concrete. The three girls stood up and approached the car. Kevin killed the engine and hopped out of the drivers seat and gave Brittany a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek while Joe greeted Ali with a hug then grabbed her hand as they made their way to the bus.
Catie looked over at Nick, who was struggling to balance four bags of McDonalds and seven drinks in his two hands. Catie laughed as Big Rob came out of the back and ran over to him and grabbed the bags then strode onto the bus so it was just her and Nick. Nick looked over at Catie again and blushed. She giggled and made her way over to him.
"Hey, so do you want to put this stuff inside and take a walk? There's a really nice creek back over there," he pointed towards a patch of woods next to the large parking lot outside of the concert hall where they would be performing later.
Catie nodded and followed Nick inside. They set the seven cups of orange juice on the coffee table and each grabbed a breakfast sandwich out one of the bags then scurried off the bus. The walked in silence while they ate their breakfast until they reached the woods.
"So..." Nick said awkwardly.
"So..." Catie replied and smiled at him. His hair was perfect and shiny. She couldnt help but wonder what it felt like. She blushed at the thought.
Then Nick started jogging then sat down taking his converse off on a fallen tree. Catie ran up next to him and did the same when she heard the slow sound of running water which had to be the creek.
A few minutes later, they both had their feet in the warm water, sitting on the ground. Nick cleared his throat then said, "So, you like me right?" He looked into her eyes which made Catie's heartbeat increase. She nodded and could feel her face getting red.
"Well, yeah. You're funny, cute and really fun to hang out with," she replied and kicked the water lightly with her feet.
"Really," he said but it didn't sound like a question. Catie left his gaze and looked at the water.
"Well, let's see how much I like you," he said slyly. Catie was confused so she looked back at Nick. Then he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. It was just one kiss but Catie felt like she was going to melt into a pool of butter right there. Nick pulled away and took a deep breath then said...
