Worth noting that Terry Riley himself is enthusiastic about the project, calling the remixes "some 'alternate universe' In C's that got me smiling, beaming and sometimes amazed."
I'm not sure what the negative fuss is about. Minimalism, with its patterns and pulse-based music, makes for perfect remix material. It has already happened with Reich (with his blessing). Why not In C? Is the objection to the remixing in general? the adding of electronic parts? that an engineer might make decisions about a recording? All of these issues are much broader than this project, and really get down to personal preferences. I look forward to this project.

The idea does seem silly. Listen to it.
Also, why are all these big names attached to this project? What do all of those people have to do with it (I really am curious)?
