William Everett Preston (September 2, 1946 -- June 6, 2006) was an American soul musician from Houston, Texas, raised mostly in Los Angeles, California.

Billy Preston was a very good song writer and very underated as well. He did not get the recinition he deserved. We will miss you.

I saw Billy when he opened a concert for Kiss. He had a keyboard hanging around his neck. He rocked a whole stadium full of long-haired white boys (including me). It was amazing.
