This comes from a Veterans Day event that was held in Washington, DC on 11/10/07. Lt. Gen. Hal Moore, along with other retired veterans who had served in every war from WWII to Iraqi Freedom, appeared at this event to speak to an audience of Young Marines, Civil Air Patrol and other interested persons. In this video, Lt. Gen. Moore responds to a question about what young people can learn from the service of veterans like him and what advice he could give on how they can apply these lessons to their lives whether in the military or civilian life. For those who may not know, Moore led the American forces during the famous Battle of Ia Drang in the Vietnam War that was later turned into the movie "We Were Soldiers". Shown with him at the panel in the video were some of his lieutenants and soldiers who fought with him during that conflict. My apologies for the poor quality of the video, but the sound is clear enough and what Lt. Gen. Moore has to say is truly inspiring.
