3 people didn't come Undun like the rest of us..when they heard this...haha... This is amazing. Kurt is the Man!

A great live performance and sounds just as good now as it did in 2007. Bravo for Kurt and Laurence and the guys for the twisted and GROOVELICIOUS arrangement
and stretching the jazz envelope on this classic pop tune. If I were the songwriter, I would be thrilled and excited with this treatment; breathing new life into a classic. Hats off to you Kurt!

This is a true jazz singer.
Refreshing not to hear another Sinatra.
Studio recordings are much better .
With Tony Bennet this is my favourite singer.
-
WHAT A VOICE!!!!! SLAMMIN' BABY!

Randy Bachman, the original canadian writer of this song, was taught guitar in jazz style as a teen
and now has reverted back to his jazz roots.
Is now working with Diana Krol/Costello.

I think Kurt's vocal timbre is what they call warm and dry --
NOt enough male jazz vocalists around - but Kurt makes up for the lack all by himself - Night Dreamer is amazing, Esperanto is cosmic, Oh My God is hellaciously groovy - I'm glad I stumbled across the Live in Chicago CD in the local library - gonna try to find someone to come to see him at the Kennedy Center this weekend - my older daughter would love it, but she's out of the country -- in a pinch I'll go alone, can't miss Kurt

Jazz is NOT Rock. Jazz is all about taking the song apart and putting it back together. He's not trying to do the Guess Who version (which, btw, is incredible), he's trying to do more with the vocal phrasing and he's interacting with the instruments very differently than he'd do if he was a rock singer (most of whom don't impress me as great singers as far as the way they use their "instrument") Let it be what it is: an interpretation of the original that goes in another direction.
