  • BTW, sorry, he won the Nobel in 1970, not the 80's. I was going off memory, which is always SOOO reliable.

  • It's cool.

  • Actually his impact is even bigger, the 1 billion lives was an estimate when he won the Nobel Peace Prize in the early 80's. By now it's probably closer to 3-4 billion, as his crops are still and will still be used to feed the poorest people in the worst regions of the world. This month's Time magazine, with Glenn Beck's crybaby ass on the cover, has a few paragraphs on Bourlag beneath, yes you guessed it, yet another Patrick Swayze piece. (Sigh)

  • Well at least he's mentioned.

  • He wasnt given much attention when he was alive does it really surprise you he wasn't given much when you died??

  • Not really. I'm just saying he should've been given attention full stop.

  • Cool.

  • yes that is where i was heading with my original statement

  • Yeh. It's because Patrick Swayze was more well-known but even then, Norman Borlaug should have been more well-known when he was alive.

  • yeah WTF is our society coming to i mean we can recall when movie actors and stuff die but the people that have brought us all this great stuff are severely over looked.....
