Neil Young's Harvest Moon is one of the first records I ever heard and subsequently appreciated as an ALBUM, a complete thought. His voice and songs are hypnotic to me. Also his wardrobe, especially certain fringed leather pieces in which he has been photographed over the years, is a constant source of wonder and inspiration for me.
"Tell Me Why" appears on After the Gold Rush, which has a Wikipedia entry I found most interesting (especially the part about Quantum Leaper/Total cylon Dean Stockwell).

I love great songs; that's why I write and perform music. "Favorite Songs" is a new project in which I'll be covering some songs that are close to my physical or metaphorical heart (probably metaphorical). No real reason, I just love singing songs that I love.

There are so many reasons to treasure Jenny Owen Youngs. For those of us of a Certain Age, her feel for the stuff that moved us when we were younger, is just another one of those reasons.
