@snowflakeinorlando OH lol i let you know... anytime the skin is broken there is a risk of infection. They have you sign that little waiver before they start anything (even when i had my induction it was on there about the blood draws and IV)
@snowflakeinorlando if you were only 36 weeks i wouldve waited... 37 weeks is considered full term.
I would take back my induction if i could... they hyperstemmed me BAAAAD, i still want to slap the nurses that did it to me and made me have a bad birthing experience.
@GuitarRockinChick18, Not sure where you got your info, because I've never came across this. I'm not saying you're wrong though... I'm suppose to get an amnio done when I'm 36 weeks pregnant,to determine fatel lung maturity, because I have placenta previa. I'm curious to know where you found your info. I'll research it while I wait for your reply. I declined the amnio when I was 4 months due to possibility of a miscarriage. My OB said this late in pregnancy= preterm labor.
@FalseDisposition but that is if it is performed CORRECTLY, which is never 100%. Any other time it causes infection to the fetus/mother and can be very deadly causing death to the mother or fetus.
If you are having a normal pregnancy and aren't having complications an amnio should be avoided at all costs. They are considered an elective anyway.
@GuitarRockinChick18 I just had one last week and it actually helped. We will be finding out in a few days whether our son has cf or not and if he has to have surgery right after birth or not. The chances of fetal fatality with an amnio is less than .2%
@FalseDisposition i know that, but the process of an amniocentisis can CAUSE the death of the fetus and mother. It is a VERY dangerous procedure and if at all possible, should be avoided.
I seriously dont remember posting that comment a year ago, i think someone might have posted it for me, but i do not like how "health guru" posts bias crap and they dont give you the real info, and how they went from "health" to "pregnant video 24-7" guru.
so does every pregnant woman have to get an amnio test or just certain ppl?

@forbidenmeat Um perhaps they are and aren't willing to base their baby's life on a possibility or even a probability.
