I adored them all. Gene was the best GS host. Charles, Richard, Fanny and Brett were my favorites on the panel. Fanny always had some cool and funny shirts. Sure miss those days when we had real natural comedy.

Threw up in my mouth a little at 1:38.

I'm watching all the old Match Game episodes on GSN and seeing them here so much older is so surreal. I would have loved to have met Gene or Brett. Match Game is such a good show and it's all thanks to them and the rest of the amazing celebrities who starred on it.

Is that Gene's last appearance before he died?

Gene Rayburn and Bret Somers were Extra Awesome. I love Fanny Flagg too.

RIP Mr. Rayburn.

@jimbojamesIV You are corect that Rayburn would have an interesting memoir, if he wrote one.
If not, someone should compose a biography of his life. I've already got a few working titles--"Gene Rayburn: No One Could 'Match' Him," or "The Life Of Gene Rayburn - Story Of A Blankin' Nice Guy."
I'm sure many fans of the '70s "Match Game" would like to know what transpired at those soirees with Gene, Brett Somers, and Charles Nelson Reilly in Encino, to which Brett often referred.

@jimbojamesIV Rayburn was also the first announcer of "The Tonight Show," when it was titled just "Tonight" and hosted by Steve Allen.
Gene also acted, and spent summer vacations with his wife and family on Cape Cod, where he also acted in summer stock. I recall seeing a photo of Gene riding his bicycle on Cape Cod, in one of the Boston newspapers I delivered on my morning paper route circa 1972. The caption of that photo also mentioned the summer stock play Rayburn acted in that summer.
Wow its hard to believe so many of them are no longer with us!

@jdohe Peter Tomarken gave up a career of show business to help those less fortunate. In the plane crash that claimed the lives of him and his wife, he was taking a patient who had financial troubles to see medical help. He and his wife sacrificed their lives because they wanted to help others. God Bless Peter and Kathleen Tomarken.
