David Letterman EXTORTION: "I was blackmailed over affairs!"

Late Nite King of Talk; David Letterman found himself on the receiving end of an extortion scheme by Robert J. Halderman who is a CBS producer of 48 Hours. David Letterman handled this like the class act he is. While he may have had his peccadilloes and trysts exposed he owned up with out excuses. Many politicians could have learned a few things from the way he handled this issue. A CBS News employee has pleaded not guilty to trying to blackmail David Letterman for $2 million in a plot that spurred the TV host to acknowledge sexual relationships with female staffers on his show.

Robert J. Halderman entered his plea as he was arraigned on an attempted grand larceny charge Friday in a Manhattan court. Bail has been set at $200,000.

Halderman is a producer for the true-crime show 48 Hours.

1. The partner would not accept the excuses.

2. Peolple wold say things like: "bitch" etc.

3. She probably would not keep her job.
