I know I sound like a huge nerd, but you should stop plucking the strum bar with your thumb, and actually grab onto it like you would a guitar pick and push down/pull up. It's kind of awkward at first, but once you get the hang of it, it makes guitar (on rockband) so much easier to play. JUST TRYIN TO HALP ROCOCO
