Implementing the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005: Consumer Bankruptcy
AVA21532VNB1, 4836-V/05, September 7, 2005

On April 20, the President signed the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. The Act is the first major overhaul of the nations bankruptcy laws in 27 years. This program supplements information in Implementing the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005: An Overview for Judges, Staff Attorneys, and Law Clerks, which first aired on the FJTN in June. It includes an update on the development of interim rules and forms, and an indepth examination of some of the changes judges will face. Judge A. Thomas Small (Bankr. E.D. N.C.) moderates the discussion with panelists Judges William H. Brown (Bankr. W.D. Tenn.) and Eugene Wedoff (Bankr. N.D. Ill.).
