I bought this album in vinyl back in the day and still have it, somewhere! There was always something special about this tune, and this performance. It's got drive, it swings and Maynard is at his absolute prime. While there are a few which are a little disappointing to go back to, this one's at the opposite end of the spectrum. It gets better with time. Thanks for sharing.
Green Dolphin St is one of my all-time favorite jazz charts and this rendition is tops. I have this CD and it's classic Maynard. Really swings :) Thanks for the upload.
man I love the transition into the bridge....the straight ahead bass gives such a cool contrast. I collected about 60 Maynard albums and of which only four are on my wall....and this is one of them.
thanks for the Maynard Tune from the album Color him Wild.I've been looking for this recording for years.Any chance of putting the entire album on your site 1Bluesboy1?! I remember also a great "The Lady's in Love",Three More Foxes,Airegin,Lots of beautiful writing by Willie Maiden, and a lot of great soloist!
