Check social anxiety videos and selective mutism videos. I suffered way into adulthood.

So true...

"Just get over it and stop caring what other people think." Some people say. If only it were that easy to overcome shyness, no one would be shy. If I try too hard to fight my shyness, it actually becomes worse. I've learned to accept a degree of shyness and just ride it and acting in spite of it. Sometimes you just can't fight with physiology.

sabot - hey brother - I don't actually think you're shy. Shy is a normal response that many people have but is easy to get over, you actually have SOCIAL ANXIETY and cognitive behavorial therapy works wonder for it. YOU AND OTHERS READING CAN ABOSLUTELY OVERCOME IT. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BATTLE WITH IT. I am going to create a video response to talk about this, hope you watch it and it helps.

sir your words have emotion, there fore I dont think you are shy :)

For me, I just find being round most people really tiring. Like someone said, it's not so much a fear of rejection, more a fear of being different to them.
I really think the right nutrition is the key for me.

It is your struggles that define you :o)

BTW you are not the only one ... I am too shy I am 27 years old :D

Stop looking for acceptance from people. Accept yourself! People can allow themselves new experiences and discover that there view of things can change. They don't have to be stuck. Ask yourself better questions get better answers!

im pretty darn shy. im dont go out at all. im basically stir crazy. lol. ...like..i have alot to say. alotta of things in my mind to talk about. but the shyness just kicks in right away. i wanna be myself around others...but the anxiety kicks in. it is hard to learn, and adapt to it. i dont want to turn up like those lonely crazy outcast guys. like dinner with smucks. i know i have alot to say. all that excitement inside me is bottling up. lol. but im still learning though
Late comment, but I wanted to say this was an interesting video.
Being Schizoid, I understand the feeling of life passing me by, but like missing a train that goes to nowhere.
I really enjoy being alone and being in quiet places, I don't regret not going to parties and not meeting people. I don't get much pleasure out of friendships or idle conversations.
I don't have "friends" and don't want them.
Only people I really care about are in my family, and I care a lot about them.
Cool video.

@RedBloodReign Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I have found over time that my circle of people grows smaller, but they are of the highest quality.

i have always been extremely shy...but i didn't really notice it until lately. i always just thought of my self as 'introverted' or 'uninterested' or 'unfriendly.' but its so hard to live like this. i wish i had a different personality. i can't even look people in the eye for more than 4 or 5 seconds and i hate it. i'm sure there are many self-help books out there on how to get better

It does get better over time, but I have found that it does not go away totally. I still struggle with it. That is ok, it makes me who I am.
