"Dick Tracy starring in Diamond Double-Cross" performed at Disneyland's Videopolis stage in Fantasyland. This musical performance played from June 15, 1990 until December 31, 1990.

The production was created to help promote the newly released film starring Warren Beatty, Al Pacino, and Madonna.

Original songs written by Stephen Sondheim of "West Side Story" and "Sweeney Todd" fame.

"RAID!"

  • My friend Paul Cira played Dick Tracy and Guston in the Disney shows. I am sorry to say he had passed away in 1993, he was 30 yrs old. I think about him and miss his great kindness and compassion. He was a great actor and singer outside of Disneyland.

  • Sorry about that. Was he in this video? Thanks for giving credit to a Disneyland Dick Tracy.

  • He surely sounds like him. It makes me smile when I watch this, thank you for doing this for everyone to see.

  • My pleasure. I watched this production a lot as a kid. I also like and still have my VHS copy of the Dick Tracy movie.

  • Thanks for posting this! My friend played Mumbles in the show...any chance you'd send me the first minute in quicktime or windows media format? Just the first minute where you see Mumbles..just curious. Cheers! Silentbobstash

  • Well, youtube won't send you the link. You check out MGM's version? Not as good as Disneyland...

  • this is so silly it's hard NOT to like it XD Plus I've got a soft spot for nearly anything '90 Dick Tracy. I was obsessed when that came out. I was six at that time

  • I have a strange feeling that the same writer and coreographer of Plane Crazy did this one too.

  • I'm not sure that's Paul, it does sound like him sometimes, but I have a feeling it isn't. I remember him as Gaston too did he ever tell you about his last day as Dick Tracy?

  • Wow watching this again brings back so many memories, We must've seen this show 100 times

  • No, I didn't see that one. But this one is great - and seeing my co-worker Tim is cool. Thanks,

    Jeff
