@Gemeinwesen "Under Fire" was released in 1983 while "E.T." came out in 1982; "Poltergeist" was what was nominated alongside "E.T."

Has been with me since 1982, track by track. Back then, even only listening to it for the first time without ever having seen so so much as the trailer of the movie, I would have ventured Goldsmith was in for his second and well-deserved "Oscar", but "E. T." raked in all the awards that year. Still - one of the recordings I really, really treasure (and this comes from somenone who has literallly thousands of cds).

@ThisIsLoozyWoozy papoose version still sounded better though ^^

My only complaint is this: they should have released the EXPANDED score. So much brilliant music was left off the original soundtrack. This is one of Goldsmith's finest! It would be like releasing Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the 4th Movement cut off! Stupid Industry people.

One of my favorite movies. I fell in love with the music the first time I heard it.
I wore out a CD and am looking to replace it. Hard to find item!
