  • Damn you, How jealous am I? You guys are living a good life in an amazingly beautiful area while eating, I imagine, incredible syrup. Plus, you guys probably smell good from it.

    PS,

do you guys do apple cider too?

  • Nope, no cider unfortunately. And trust me, after spending hours on end in the sugar house stoking the fire and boiling sap we smell anything but good. ;-)

  • I bought your guys syrup at magic mountain? did u have some1 sell it there this year?

  • Nope, not ours. Sorry. The production of maple syrup you see here is strictly a "family" operation, meaning we only produced a few gallons for personal use.

  • Our Family makes maple syrup every year and I am disheartened not to see a modern operation on YouTube. We utilize a pipeline of about 300 taps that pumps the sap to a stainless steel bulk tank and then up the hill to our Sugar Shack to be boiled down by two wood boilers (Wood is very abundant and cheap fuel source). We also use buckets and have about 250 plastic buckets with lids and tubes that also collect sap.

  • @Vorash2002 Yes Maine and New Hampshire. I have a few out here in Maine!

  • 40 gallons of sap to make just 1 gallon of syrup? Thats a lot of work for just 1 gallon. No wonder why the "true, real" syrup is so expensive. But its damn good. Do they have those maple farms in New Hampshire or Maine? Greetings from Washington State

  • Love to see yours is a "REAL" sugar operation with a WOOD fired evaporator !!

We still have 8" of snow on the ground (April 15th), and sunny weather. So, I'm hoping we have an applicable climate for sugar maples. We just planted 12, so I'm telling my boys that in 40 years, they can start producing their own syrup!!

Have fun with your operation - Mark
