I thoroughly enjoyed this,...laughed aloud at the end at the picnik lunch.(in light of the title being not alot like the subject...I'd forgotted about the title!..it was then, like the punch line.......I think the ocean is a most wonderful place, cannot imagine anyone having never seen an ocean. you have a marvelous sea shore and history there on it...read one of my pa's books from his youth, a gift from his mum..shipwrecks of the pacific....love the histories.
Cheers!

What a fantastic film! The wrecked ship, the depressed man. What a metaphor. It's like a novel. I of course recognize this is not a novel, it's your life, and you can not be so neatly fit into the artistic pigeonhole this film so cleverly puts you in, but I do love that kind of symbolism. This was ultimately a very optimistic piece, and I can relate to the healing you find beside the sea. I am someone who likes a certain amount of solitude myself. Thanks for sharing this, Andrew.

Hi there,
Fantastic film which won in the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival in 2008. I am hoping to find a contact for this film so that it could possibly be included in a new online database which is being set up by the Mental Health Foundation Glasgow in partnership with the Institute of Research in Social Sciences.
If you know who may be best to contact regarding this film I would be really grateful if you could get in touch: films@mindreel.org.uk.
Many thanks,
Liz

Capt -thanks for alerting me to this film - -- very poignant without trying too hard to be so and very brave of you to make this. You and your sister are both very talented.

@wild0goose Thank you for watching it, I was, until relatively recently working within psychiatric care myself and felt that if a maybe more positive or at least less negative view of such illness were abroad it wouldn't be a bad thing for all concerned. Although I must stress that at this time I was very much recovered from my more significant depression. Many Thanks again Andrew.
