This version was written by Raul Sunico. I learned it by ear... so no sheet music exists (for those requesting it).

"Kastilyong Buhangin" ("Castle of Sand")
(Translated by echu; bad translation but the only one I found)

Sometimes a promise can be compared
To a castle of sand
Most fragile and if not untouchable
It crumbles at a blow of the wind

The tide of mistaken love
Is its mortal enemy
If it kisses the shore
The castle falls

So before the lover's oath is spoken
In our thoughts and in our deeds
Let us ponder if love is everlasting
Even after our destinies diverge

Once two hearts pledged
An endless love
A sand castle's promise it seems
Love that is fleeting

Momentary, bringing only tears
That was our kind of love
It crumbled like a castle of sand

  • Hi Michael. I have just listened again to your definative version because of a You Tuber Comment. It is still for me the most wonderful interpretaion of the song. I would beseech you to recreat the atmosphere and the emotion that you put into the version. The video is most awful the sound is still magical. Did in fact Lizst,s No 3 influence the version, as was put forward by one You Tuber.

    Best Wishes

  • Michael. How are you ? I hope your medical studies are now at an end and you have fully qualified. I listened again to your wonderful version of Kastilyong Buhagin, after a message from a fillipino commenting on my also ran version of the song. I tell all who comment on my version that there is only one definitive version and it is by MchaelDLC. Your Video is quite terrible but the sound and the playing is magical. I listen again and again and never fail to be enthralled by the playing.
