Bionic Eye by 2020

A working bionic eye could be an Australian world first by 2020 if action is taken quickly, leading researchers at the University of New South Wales say. Featuring Professor Nigel Lovell from UNSW's Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering.

That they have out now is bulky and has low resolution and requires transmitting glasses to be worn. The new designs that are in the work are already making the current models obsolete.

I am absolutely giddy that by 2019, a more advanced bionic eye will be available for people that will not only provide normal vision, but vision better than a healthy eye.

The future looks very bright.
