@miasmablk We are not paid for having a degree, we are not paid to do manual labor. We are paid for what we have to put up with. If it paid lousy no one would be lining up to do this shit. The money is the only draw. The real waste is the college programs for Lifers who will never get out. The money spent on medical transportation and air evacs for inmates who pretend to have chests pains so they can go on a field trip. Just one air transport costs about the same as a years salary for C/Os

What they should do is put every single fukin inmate under 23 1/2 hr lockdown. Who gives a sh1t if it's deemed cruel and unusual. They are inmates, who gives a shit how they feel. It would save bags of cash.

You should like people like myself, it shows that prison can work in turning someones life around. But I've had COs flat out tell me the only difference between them and inmates was getting caught. neckarsulme -> To be honest, I was arrested 13 years ago when I was 18. My education has been earned since leaving prison. While sitting in that hell-hole and being treated like an animal I decided I needed to change something about myself, and so I did. Unfortunately for all of us, most don't follow that route.

Inmates are all felons, evil bastards who kill/rape and molest kids. Street cops pull over 85% good citizens. A C/O deals with the worst garbage on a day to day basis.
Truly the toughest beat, and Correctional Peace Officers are better law enforcement than any street cop.
