interviewer- And what is the main cause in your opinion?
blacquiere- The Varroa parasite, that arrived here 30 years ago. and the bees cant cope with that.

-Bonmatin - Disease is a cause. pathogens, virus. And parasites like varrao is a cause. And chemicals like pesticides is another cause. Together they decline the bee population. From chemicals they get disease and increase in parasites.

- voice over -- blacquiere seeks the cause in diseases and not pesticides.

blacquiere -- We dont look for pesticides as cause of the bee killings. its very difficult and expensive. there was no budget for this. we look at the big picture and problems.

vander Zee -- I'm very interested in these poisons because they could increase illness. It's like lungcancer. When they investigated that some said "not all die from it."

voice over -- blacqiere says the beekeepers are responsible partially.

beekeeper Van der Poel -- i only keep bees for 50 years so... i know a teacher in beekeeping, an expert. all his colonies died, then i cant believe that he is a bad beekeeper. i dont buy that..

De honingbij is een uitzondering in het rijk der bijen. We maken ons zorgen om 'onze' honing, niet zozeer de bijen die hoofdzakelijk solitair leven. 'Onze' honingbij komt van nature niet voor in ons land, wel zo'n 300 andere soorten waarvan een groot deel al verdwenen, oa. door de honingbij. Wat dat betreft is dit een behoorlijk dubbel onderwerp.

@dehobbyactivist laat geert w. het maar niet horen. als er geen groente of fruit meer is gaat het niet goed... als ik hier zo eens naar de "natuur" kijk vraag ik me af of we heel snel ook de "killerbee" hier hebben...

Ik heb vorig jaar op anarchiel een artikel over de bijensterfte geschreven waarin ik o.a. naar voren bracht dat de bestrijdingsmiddelen tegen de varoa mijt voor de gewone imker niet te betalen is. Er moet immers geld aan de honing verdiend kunnen worden. Ze kunnen wel aparte korrels kopen en zelf het bestrijdingsmiddel maken. Maar de informatie over de juiste hoeveelheid ontbreekt. Als de dosis te hoog is dan sterven de bijen en larven hierdoor ook.

Goed om te zien dat Zembla verder zoekt.

Ik heb gelezen dat bijen de dauwdruppels drinken van de bloemen, ra, ra, wat zou daar nu inzitten.

@dehobbyactivist Denk overigens dat Einstein wel een goed zicht had op het soort en dat zijn uitspraak wel klopt, maar meestal vanwege weinig kennis totaal verkeerd wordt begrepen en toegepast.

@MrMinutemen Wat heeft Geert hier mee te maken? Wat ik zeg is dat het onderwerp veel breder is dan de honingbijen die in vrijwel elke discussie centraal staan. Dan stel je dat er geen groente en fruit is zonder de honingbijen en dat is dus niet wetende dat de honingbij van nature helemaal niet voorkomt in Nederland, wel 300 solitaire bijen, maar daar kunnen wij natuurlijk geen honing van roven. Voor allerlei bijen kun je op individueel niveau van alles doen...
