My First Song (Keith Sanders Productions) Through Wit' Cha' (Full Version)

My first self-recorded song using . Made using Cubase5. All sounds / effects come straight from the Cubase5 VST Files except for some drum sounds I programmed with my trusty ancient Yamaha RY30 drum machine. Let me know what you all think....yeah I know it needs mastering and more cleaning, but, hey, like I said, it's my first try. I miss the old school Horn section bands like Earth Wind and Fire and The Barkays. I'm fascinated with the modern synthesizer sounds made hot by today's power producers like Timberland. My concept for the song was to combine the tight horn sections of yesterday with bold synthesizer sounds of today and place that all on top of a driving funky drum track that you could easily hear in modern clubs. I wanted the overall lyric theme to be an easily recognizable story line for the verses and an anthem-like chant on the choruses that listeners will feel compelled to sing along to each time they hear the track.

Why do you say the RY30 is truly ancient when it is better than many today???

Just said and meant truly Ancient. Better or not better wasn't my point. My point was that I used drums that came from hardware I bought decades back and wanted to try to illustrate that with creativity one could make an up-to-date song using hardware and sound that were created for an entirely different era. I obviously agree with you because I used the "Ancient RY30" in my production. Haven't bought another hardware rhythem processor since. Thanks for the comment :o)
