In my life there's no truth, there's just mountains of lies.
Search for identity, but wear a disguise.
I run and I run and I run and I run and I hide.
I'm complicated, so frustrating.
I know you hate it, but I just can't fake it.
You've seen my world's at war, when I unlock my door.
Showed you things I hoped you never see.
You just said "Oh George, you could be so much more."
"You've lost your way, it's a damn shame."

How do you criticize, when you stand so safe inside?
How do you climb, when you built your walls so high?
How do you fight, when your hands are firmly tied?
How do you rise, when all you know is the downside?

  • @SlowlyVVeRot Actually I listened to ruiner, and realised I did not have you right at all. Not what I thought you meant. If you do a search here for Poions Idea gone for good. You will have an idea of what I beleive you meant.

No matter if you don't like it. Just highlighting where I thought you were coming from is all.

  • @SlowlyVVeRot Ah I think I understand what you mean. That kind of snapping pure adrendaline vocals backed by a relentless sound blast of hardcore punk. Oh yes, that is cool too.

I could argue that metalcore realy borrowed the yelling style vocals before metalcore became what it is. But that is obviously debateable and besides the point.

  • @Lodestar1977 Hmmm, I'll try to explain. Blacklisted's vocalist has a metalcore-ish intensity to his vocals that I think is more apparent since the tempo of this song is slow and allows space for him to draw out each line. This contrasts with a band like Champion or Ruiner, where the vocalists spit their lines at a quicker tempo and the space is not there for them to draw out their words like in this song.

  • @SlowlyVVeRot Bit late to answer this. But out of curiosity I wonder if I could ask you to elaborate on that.

  • great song. i love hardcore with more intense screaming as opposed to the traditional yelling. it's all good though!
