Friday night, Feb 18 2011, I peek out my front window -- at midnight -- and see a small stream of water flowing down the gutter. Thinking nothing of it I go back to puttering around in the shop. Then remember that it is *below* *freezing* outside, and this *cannot* be melting snow.
A quick trek outside reveals water bubbling up from the street. Yikes! Visions of the street collapsing into a gigantic sink hole....and I call it into the 'utility emergency line'.
They're out in full force at 2am. By 3am, the jackhammer appears.

As an added bonus, we got a free speed bump.
