Inky was once a thrown away stray American Pit Bull Terrier, used for breeding and left tied to a pole with an untreated case of demodectic mange so awful that we couldn't tell what color hair she had. Within six months, Inky the unwanted lucky-to-be-rescued pit bull became Inky the AKC Canine Good Citizen Award winner and Therapy Dog Intl. certified therapy dog. Inky is shown at the Houston 2009 Reliant Dog Show after five hours of walking through the crowd, being pet and hugged and being an ambassador for the APBT breed. People were very positive to her and we had a good time. Support breed rescue, don't breed and buy pit bull terriers when perfect family pets like Inky are dying in the shelters all over the USA! People ask what type of collar she has on. It's a Greyhound style martingale, which does tighten up if she pulls but doesn't choke her and keeps the dog from backing out and slipping the collar. I bought mine from Greyhound Rescue in Houston, but most Greyhound rescues sell them. Her leash is a traffic lead made by Lupine with a swivel latch, great item.

  • You go girl ! I've had pit bull rescue dogs for more than 9yrs, obedience trained, crate trained, temperament tested, in 41yrs of owning/raising/training various breeds of dogs, the pit bull and Am Staff are the BEST ever ! Most intelligent and sensitive of breeds, they deserve to be loved, and cherished as pets. It is the bad wicked people who make dogs bad, it is NOT THE BREED. Keep up the great work with your pit bully !!!

  • So sweeeeeeet!!! My Amstaff is the sweetest, most snuggly sensitive dog I've ever known.........and I thought I was "scared" of "pitts" until SHE picked ME to be her mommy in my front yard one day - I believe someone dumped her and I've been trying to make it up to her ever since.....she deserves it!

  • My Grandsons pit died from a horsekick and a not so good vet. Where are you located at and how can I contact you?
