Joan Baez - The Carol of the Birds

From Joan's 1966 christmas album 'Noel'.A traditional carol which with Peter Schickele, she has arranged.I've included the words in the video pictures which differ from other versions.Joan omits the partridge : I want to build my nest /Within that very gable" but includes the others.I think the carol originates from Andalucia in Spain.Emily Mitchell also sings a fine version of this carol.

This is a traditional Catalan song. Pau Casals wrote a beautiful cello interpretation. The Catalan title of this song is "El Cant dels ocells" Thank you for posting it.
