I don't understand why this testimony is never talked about or considered when this mystery is recollected. I mean, all I've ever heard was that the raft was never found. Well, that apparently is a bunch of bullshit, if this former guard is telling the truth. And frankly, I doubt he is lying. True, he's got some facts mixed up, but lying? No, he's got no reason to. I believe they lived...mythbusters did an episode on escaping like the Anglin bros and Morris...fashioning a "raincoat boat" and made it across the bay from alcatraz...If you havent done so...do an Alcatraz tour...definately worth it if you like this kind of stuff

, a couple things dont add up to your story , why would you go into the woods by yourself looking for three escaped convicts? wouldnt you have radioed back immediately the moment you you had discovered the boat you were sent to seek out in the first place? you would have stayed put, left the boat where it was exactly like it was, radioed in a hurry and every boat and chopper would have flocked to that area and those woods like flys to shit.... dude.
