In this final installment of our Kurzweil PC3x overview series, and after examining the workstation's sound engine and program mode, we get into the zone editing and setup mode, two further ways of unlocking the PC3x's impressive sound-sculpting and live performance power.

With us as always is Kurzweil rep Christian Martirano, a pro keyboardist who's programmed more than a few workstation synths in his day. Christian takes us through the finer points of zone editing and the impressive editing depth of Setup Mode before treating us to an example of how the Kurzweil PC3x can help make complex compositional tasks -- like film scoring -- a more enjoyable experience.

There are many people just waiting for Kurzweil to come out with a whole new workstation.

They have the money all ready to buy.

Im waiting for Kurzweil to come out with a whole new model workstation to turn the would upside down. They need to put more memory in the machine so we can do alot more with

the VAST and need more drum kits or control external drum stuff like Vdrums.

A larger screen to move around on. The system functions as it is is powerful but it needs

a better interface screen. I like their sliders and how you can fade in and out sounds.

It just needs a bit more for todays market. Let do it guys.

@stryker1999 Check out Sound Tower for the editor for the Kurzweil and it makes it easy to setup features etc.

I bought one of these monsters, and while it can be a pain to program in particular veins like FM, it really is untouchable by anything but perhaps the new KORG Kronos and Roland Jupiter-80. And of course VAST is a totally unique synth engine. It's probably the best performance controller synth on the market. Incredible effects too.
