I ride my paint since the beginning with a bitless bridle; she never had a bit in her mouth and it's fantastic. Some people think that I play with my life, because they think it's dangerous to ride without a bit!
The bad thing is, that here in Switzerland, the insurance won't pay if you have an accident with a horse that doesn't wear a bit; stupid people!! I will never ever put a bit in my horse's mouth!!

@Equestrian08 Hey, i seen your comment and its just to let you know that it might be worth a try! My 4year old used to be terrible with headshaking etc but now doesnt. and ive seen TBs etc stop perfect in these bridles :) some horses just dont like bits....

Is it possible that a high strung morgan, who gets very strong jumping, could possibly, somehow, just do wonderful in a bitless bridle? He's always been strong, especially over fences, but one day I jumped him bareback in a rope halter and he was very relaxed. I thought it was his saddle so I bought him a better fitting one, evidently that wasn't a problem. Every instructor I have ever had just tries to make me bit him up or be harsher on his mouth. Do you think maybe he just hates bits?

We just order a bitless bridle the other day 2 of are horses are always throwing there heads. since they are not trained to neck rain we ordered a side pull. we haven't been able to test it out. due to the fact its been raining for a couple of days. when it gets dry we will be trying the bridle on 3 of are 4 horses. If they all do good with them we will probably get more of them.

@RoyalHorseCompany Just wanted to tell you you have misunderstood the Nurtural. The circle-x, when the bridle is properly fitted, never touches the horse there fore there is no pressure under the jaw. The circle-x merely keeps the straps in their place, allows for consistent all-over pressure for a whoa and a balanced pressure when asking for a turn. When properly fitted the pressure and release is properly balanced on both sides and the circle-x makes the bridle more stable on the horse's head.
Hi turnNburn84, Yes, Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridle works for any discipline.

Hi! We have used the Dr. Cook's on many horses, and the headpiece has never slipped. In my opinion, the Nurtural looks TOO secure. (I have not used it, but have read extensively about it) The Circle-X design doesn't seem to allow for release of pressure from the reins. It is also an added pressure spot underneath the jaw, which I don't like. I would suggest trying out the Dr. Cook's. If it doesn't work for you & your horse, just send it back within 30 days for a full refund. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the great comments!
We absolutely love the Dr. Cook's Bitless Bridle and it is all we use on our horses. The music is 'Heart In Your Hands' by Mary Ann Kennedy.
19laurel94: Actually, I find it easier, because the horse is not fighting any pain from the bit. They respond wonderfully to the softer and very clear requests of the Bitless Bridle.
