The historic Texas drought has led to a record $5.2 billion in agricultural losses, making it the most costly drought on record, according to Texas AgriLife Extension Service economists.
"The drought of 2011 will have a lasting impact on Texas agriculture," said Dr. Travis Miller, AgriLife Extension agronomist and a member of the Governor's Drought Preparedness Council.

Evaporated water leaves behind salts. How much concentrated fluoride salts are in the dry river beds here due to fluoridation of municipal water supplies. Fluoride cannot be removed from rivers and lakes. See if your dumb ass politicians care now !

To all you climate change deniers keep watching Fox News. Always, ALWAYS vote republican and don't ever question oil companies. This weather is perfectly normal...... I wonder what Texas will think when the rains quit coming. You'll blame that on the second coming of Christ or the end of the world. Your drought won't end any time soon and I doubt you'll ever completely recover. Instead, you'll steal water through shady business deals from neighboring states.

Nobody listens to me.......hey, doesen't Minot N.D. lie above Texas? I mean, if a drop of water was in a pipe, say a realllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, looooooooooooooooong pipe, which would be a gravity pipe, with some pumping stations in between, couldn't it be feasible for water to be piped down to Texas, like the big Oil Pipe? I mean, Minot N.D. floods every year, right? Put a pipe near there and let it flow, no? .........yea, I'm dumb
