Nordic runes come from the Ugric people, who traveled to Europe from Asia. They diverged into two groups, the Finns and the Magyar. Both had the same writing system, essentially. Only the "s" and "l" symbols come from Greek. None from latin because that language only existed ~1000 years after the first Szabir lived. Look up the "Szekely Rovasiras". That is the Hunic script that was used by all their Ugric descendants.
