You Surround The Mystery
A Piece of the Puzzle

(c)2007 written by Lorraine Spencer
Performed by Marri Nallos
Composed by Marizen Yanesa Soriano
Produced by Nelia Lim

You made us so happy
The day that you were born
Who could have known you'd
Bring us so much joy
Saw you growing
Never knowing
Just how special you would be
Youre a piece of the puzzle
You surround the mystery

I used to wonder
What could I have done
But youre such a precious gift
Sent from above
Can I reach you?
Can I teach you?
I promise you to do my best
How I wish you'd recover
Life has given us a test

Your face is the sunshine
And your smile is the moon
That lights the sky
Help me to see what you feel inside
Though it seems were worlds apart
Youre right here in my heart
You surround the mystery

A moment of laughter
A moment of tears
But happily ever after
Can happen here
We search for a cure
Whether its far or near
We can work together
Of this I know for sure

Your face is the sunshine
And your smile is the moon
That lights the sky
Help me to see what you feel inside
Though it seems were worlds apart
Youre right here in my heart
You surround the mystery

Saw you growing
Never knowing
Just how special you would be
Youre a piece of the puzzle
You surround the mystery

Your face is the sunshine
And your smile is the moon
That lights the sky
Help me to see what you feel inside
Though it seems were worlds apart
Youre right here in my heart
You surround the mystery

Your face is the sunshine
And your smile is the moon
That lights the sky
Help me to see what you feel inside

Though it seems were worlds apart
Youre right here in my heart
You surround the mystery
You surround the mystery

"You Surround The Mystery" is a song written to help bring about Autism awareness as a dedication to my son Elijah. A complex mystery and puzzle, Autism is a horrible condition that takes our children hostage. According to the Center for Disease Control, one in 150 children in the US has an Autism disorder. This is devastating when you consider that only 10 years ago it was one in 10,000 with Autism. Whether or not you have someone in your life on the spectrum, you will be touched by this song. We need more research, we need treatment, we need hope, and we need recovery or a cure. Support Autism charities as many are doing wonderful work and they need support.

This song is wonderfully interpreted by the lovely and ultra talented Marri Nallos, also known as "The Crystal Voice of Asia." The song is a demo only and has not been officially recorded or released. This video is my own little creation --- my first home movie project. Be sure to visit my blog (a work forever in progress) at www.yousurroundthemystery.com or www.autismanthem.com. Thanks for watching!

  • They reported on the news just yesterday that 1 in 110 children are born with autism which is a 600% increase over the past decade.

I am against getting shots for the swine flu, etc. that the government rushes through the approval process not really knowing what the long term effects may be. You have to ask yourself, WHY is there such a large increase over the last decade? What has been added to our foods and drinks that is having such an impact in the rise of autism? Enjoyed your video :-)

  • @VirtualTourShop The 110 was posted by the CDC in 2009 I think. As far as the increase of autism in the population may be due to better reporting and media, but that doesn't mean its not perservatives or other chemicals. I am not anti vaccine, but would love to see progress in the way of a cure or treatment. Glad you liked the video.

  • Im one of the 150 puzzle peices :)

  • @MissDelphilia Why thank you! Yours is one of the nicest comments yet. I appreciate your compliments. I am so glad that you are inspired and like the song. It means so much, especially because you can personally relate to the message. Thanks again and I wish you the absolute best.

  • @forensicmommy Congratulations from a fellow piece of the puzzle, this is a beautiful song. The topic of autism being cured or treated is a very controversial one, but I admire how gracefully you handle differing opinions. This trait is very rare in people who are affected by autism or have a loved one who is affected. You are an inspiration! :)

  • @Simbaholic Maybe so, but Temple Grandin can fend for herself and function without help. I don't like labels either, but I have reality to deal with as regards to my son. I want him to have as normal life as possible and that can't happen without intervention. Again, I wish you the best.

  • @forensicmommy I guess not all autistic people think about acceptance. What I mean is, if we found a "cure" for autism and all the traits and things that cause autism were eliminated, the world would be full of overly social people who never really accomplish anything. (I got that from Temple Grandin.) Still, those who do think about it probably don't like being judged or labeled for it.
