Michael 3 born 9-20-09 transposition of the great arteries

Our son was born on 9-20-09 in Lakeland, Florida, with a congenital heart condition called Transposition of the Great Arteries. At 16 days old he had open heart surgery, an operation called the "Jatene Switch"

6 Weeks later he is doing great and in excellent health!

Thanks to all the staff at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland Florida and St Joesephs Childrens Hospital in Tampa Florida!

My daughter was born 9-9-09 and had transposition of the great artieries. She is now almost 2 and doing excellent after major open heart surgery! Praise God!

I was born with TGV in 1964 And eight days later had my first open heart surgery .I had the mustard surgery open heart ,Thats what they used back then. In 1967 , Had first pacemaker in 1985. I am now 46 years old and have had A great and full life. I plan on 46 more years. I even have two grandkids ages 7 and 8 .

I had a Jatene done in 1987 at 8 days old, in Gainesville. I am now a happy, healthy 22 yr. old college grad. Dr. Robert Appleton in Orlando is an amazing pediatric cardiologist. God Bless and good luck with your beautiful baby boy!

i had this same defect but i had the mustard surgery they were never switched im 20 now and i had it done at st joephs hospital tampa fl my dr now are dr. mccormack and dr. ringwald dr. martinez ... your in my prayers ....he is in good hands down here in tampa i an tell u that i go there alot .. i just got a pace maker about 3 months ago by McCormack and ringwald did a hearty cath ...
