Heathen flight at USAFA: Evangelical cadets/chaplains at USAFA put undue pressure on cadets who didn't bow to their pressure to go to church by labeling them outsiders "aka heathen flight". Their punishment for not attending church was additional crappy duties on Sunday. The story leaked into the press, and academy leadership got into trouble. FYI, the American Family Association HQ is in Colorado Springs, near the Academy.
Only one more comment: FYI, I did serve a long time ago and do agree that the military kisses the religious right's butt to a certain extent. However, the military has attempted to punish people who cross the line in regards to religious issues (i.e. Heathen flight at the AF Academy, Jesus Scopes in this article, strict rules against carrying large quantities of Bibles in luggage for non-personal use during deployments).
@nightfrog65 Some of what you said it correct, and I never denied that part, but some of what you claim is based on your ignorance which I can understand, I'll end by saying that I'm glad your'e sick of being a pain in the ass. I'm sick of you being a pain in the ass too. Please go and educate yourself more on our military as it's painfully obvious that you never served.
@nightfrog65 You're quite IGNORANT as to what and who the military fights for in the USA. You think it fights for the constitution? ROFL The military fights for the religious right's agenda. Within the constitution it states that religion and state shall be separate, but it's anything but that. Military men are handing out bibles to civilian families in Afganistan and Iraq plus chaplins are preaching the gospel when possible. want proof?
Wrong again, my friend. Our men and women in uniform fight for the constitution of the United States, which allows people of different religious backgrounds to openly discuss spiritual issues without fear of persecution by the government.
As much as we disagree, the constitution allows all religions to coexist. This is my last post because I've made my point and feel bad about taunting you any further-goodbye.
@nightfrog65 I have a whole armory at my disposal, yes, an armory of squirt guns! I don't need weapons I have the greatest weapon of all which is my bible. I leave the blood and tears to my brothers and sisters in the military who are on the front lines fighting for Jesus. Now PISS OFF atheist piece of worm dirt.
You go, God Warrior!! Most true Christians and followers of other religions want peace, not slaughter of people who don't accept their God/Gods. Extremists of any religion are dangerous. People like you are why the government does background checks on prospective gun owners and military members.
@nightfrog65 Luke 19:27 says and I quote, "But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.'"
In case you didn't know(atheist tend to be ignorant)Jesus himself is speaking ie he's the King and of course we're his soldiers who are to kill those who reject our King.
