Experiment to see if a fast food cashier will accept a 1 ounce U.S. Silver Eagle coin for a burger under the golden arches. Currently the coin, with a one dollar face value, has a market value of over $30. This is a follow-up study of Mark Dice's experiment last year with a 1 ounce gold coin, worth $1400 at the time, at Taco Bell.

  • I would not eat that crap food, it will give you cancer if you eat it enough.

  • @silverexplosion I haven't eaten at McDonalds, or fish, for years, and just ordered the first thing that popped up on the menu.

  • Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

  • @indignant99 Thank you for the correction I added to the description.

  • @50kT That coin is legal tender. It is legal to take as payment. "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private." She is a fucking dumbass for not taking the coin because she could've just taken it and swapped out her own worthless paper money with the register. Mcdonald's wouldn't know the difference, and she'd have money in her pocket!

  • If someone did this to me when I worked fast food in HS I would've taken it for the $1 face value and then made you pay the rest of the total then laugh in your face as I bought it out of the till for $1.

  • i would take that no question coz its legal tender but if i was there i whould have taken it and put my money in the till

  • @calindor19 No, I am sure the price is scrap silver price.

  • if I was her I would have took it , and kept it for myself

  • isnt this the truth

  • the value you put only collect woulb paay that and that mean extra working to find them so it smash the lady rather take the paper.

  • I applaud you sir, we need more people like you.

  • Foolishness. For standard every day transactions only the face value is recognized. You're not at a trade show or collectors conference, you're at McDonalds. Do you want to wait in a drive through while people get coins appraised? What else should they accept in payment, livestock? Virgins?

  • you can use the coin as legal tender however as legal tender it is only worth $1. of course the silver in it is worth well more than that...

  • lol poor McDonalds chick
