  • You just simplified the first 40 formative years of jazz into five recordings, one of which wasn't even jazz (Maple Leaf Rag). There's so much more to it than that.

  • best jazzman is Dj Jazzy Jeff

  • Yeah man,...like,..I love the thumpin', modern beat that ain't got a damn thing to do with jazz playin' in the background just because, either you're trying to appeal to some snot-nosed punks who can't live without this modern bassline,...or,..just because you, yourself, are the one with the bad taste. What's wrong,...Armstrong ain't good enough for you?

  • I don't want to seem argumentative but I don't understand the rationalization for choosing these particular tunes. I would have picked Tiger Rag by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band, West End Blues by Louis Armstrong, Caravan by Duke and Body and Soul by Coleman Hawkins.

  • Very Informative. Thank you :)

  • very useful, thanks.
