I found 4 totes worth of apples on the ground and was going to feed them to the rabbits and chickens, but most were as good as store bought, (on the reduced rack ). I used a vid from Ironhead41 for the recipe. 4lbs of apples peeled and cored, 10 cups of sugar, 3 packs of activated yeast, and 4 gallons of water, in a 5 gal. plastic jug. Cover with a condom with a hole punched in it and wait 60 days. Can't wait. Maybe make some brandy from the peels and cores, I need toask him if its pos.

  • The best wines made from berries, grapes or muskadine, Hint is, the fruit, if you leave it, starts to ferment in the skin. When you break the skin and squeeze out grape juice, it is not purple, but clear. Just plain grapes, squeezed, left with the skins, will ferment on their own. Same with apples and cherries. Next time instead of food processing, slice instead, and leave the skin on, use the core too. You'll have to strain it, but it will be great.

  • @sandrajeanification I will try that I will save me hrs of peeling and coring, although I have heard there is arsenic in the seeds that will kill the yeast and would be bad to ingest if you had a real lot of it.

  • That's gunna be some watery cider...4 gal of water with 4lb of apples? Jeeze...

  • @TheTobinobin yes it was watery, but I froze the water off and it was much better.

  • It just feel nice when your condom is touching a couple of huge jugs. No really, that is a very un-esthetic brewing arrangement.

  • @lifelongitch nice :)

  • I seriously hope you used the unlubricated condoms!

  • airlocks only cost .99 man. They not only keep the wine sealed from bacteria, but also let you know when its done fermenting when the bubbling stops.

  • @trachdog2 I know there are hundreds of other and better ways to do it, I just thought it was funny and did it the way I learned, airlocks cost about $3.00 and a pack of rubbers was $9.99 lol

  • Sweet Jesus buy some balloons...do you like semen with your apple cider?

  • @markrobertsfdsa yeah the prevent you gettin aids not a darn air lock
