Is that dog staring at a hot chick?

My aun't has small dashunds, she got this dog named Rusty while my brother Teddy was sleeping at my aun'ts house he nipped him right in the nose from what I heard. He got rude awakening, that damm dog nips every body & I say nip because biting would imply that he's attacking people ofcourse thats not the case. He's merly being playful,he's also an attention hog but that a different story.

@liliannx3 i do have a question, the mother will usually use there nose and push the dog away.. is it acceptable when the dog bites your toes and stuff to push it away? im not talking abt throwing the dog but i mean i redirecting of the head away from the area? my puppy is currently going through this and he things when i pull my foot away im playing with him, and when i ignore him he bites the couch... so im kinda wondering what to do so hell know he did wrong..
-
@liliannx3 YES! correct, beating or yelling does absolutely NOTHING. my dog was yelled at when she nipped or jumped, whenever i saw my mother do this, it just looked so wrong and abusive. so when i trained my dog to lay down, if she nibbled or pawed at my hand, i just said sit, and she sat straight up and stopped.

LMAO what an idiot. The dog will think you are playing with him and it IS acceptable if you give him a tug on the leash. This guy should NOT be owning a dog, much less a rottie.
-
@liliannx3 I'll try and put it in black and white for you... When you are ignoring the dog you are taking
away (= negative) what the dog likes...IE interaction and/or attention. = punishment. Have you been formally educated on motivation matrix in dog training? It is well established and recognised science, and cannot be argued. Don't call me an idiot when you are the one who is lacking in knowledge.

@skinnydogkew It is positive reinforcement. You are reinforcing the behavior that you want. The basic idea of positive reinforcement is that the dog wants a certain thing and the only way to get that certain thing is if he behaves a specific way-The reward is play. You are not hurting your dog, you are not neglecting it, you are simply, in a humane and unambiguous way, teaching your dog that its biting is unacceptable. Can't believe you are allowed unsupervised access to the internet. 1 idiot.

@liliannx3 Good technique very valid. But its not positive reinforcement, its negative punishment you fool. So in scientific terms you are still punishing the dog.
Cant believe this comment had 11 likes. Thats 11 idiots.

ok if you try and distract them with a toy, the dog will assume that is a reward for biting. the proper form i was taught is when a puppy bites, you yell ow in a stern voice and ignore the dog. the dog will realize that the stern voice is a sign that they are in trouble and with ignoring them, they realize that you will not play with them if they continue with that behaviour. expert village is pure crap most vets could tell you how to get your dog to stop biting
-
Total crap. You SHOULD LET puppies bite to teach them bite inhibition by yelping when a bite hurts. Jerking a dog around on a leash only teaches the dog that humans hurt them. Get into a positive reinforcement class. Also, dogs that actually bite are NOT going to learn to not bite just with 'obedience' training. I guess they let any idiot claim they're an expert.

what a useless video.
it told me nothing about how to train my dog, all it told me was to spend money at his site.

never use physical correction. it will make the puppy scared. positive reinforcement.
if your puppy bites you get up and ignore it. EVERY SINGLE TIME. it will realize that if it bites you, then you wont play with it. and he will stop biting.
