Hi. My name is Steve. I once had aspirations to be a singer/songwriter until one day it dawned on me that I sort of suck at singing. Now I spend my days in search of talented singers to do online collaborations.
I bring to the table several decades worth of experience making music in several genres. I've got an honours certificate in jazz studies, and at one time or an other I've written, arranged & produced music for small string ensembles, jazz combos, big bands, leftfield electronic projects and punk/alternative rock bands.
I like to collaborate with a wide array of singers whenever possible. If you have a great voice and the ability to record audio & video (for YouTube vids) I'd love to work with you.
If you also write songs, I'm eager to have them in the mix as well. Perhaps we could even co-write. If your songs are strong enough perhaps we could do an album of just your songs with me acting as producer.
The videos posted in the Quick & Dirty Demo Series (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=28006A711A8B2B84) are just that - quick and dirty. Camera on, pick up guitar, sing the song. Do it all in one take if possible, don't do any overdubs. If I make some mistakes here & there then so be it. My philosophy is that a good song doesn't need anything else. Sure, we can dress a million different ways in the studio, but if the bare bones are boring there's no use going any further.
