additionally, because of the pixellation, it looks like your fingertips are silver when you touch the surface. or, it could just be an added feature of anything buchla that you actually "bond" with a machine's surface while you play it. silly me.

Not so silly! Improvising with a machine is only possible with a "bond" to the machine - if I have to think of technical problems during playiing, I can't create anything anymore.
