Multiple Mini Interview sample scenario. (www.mscmedical.ca)
Ever since the introduction of the Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) format by McMaster University, a significant number of programs have adapted to use MMI s a tool for assessing competitive applicants. As of 2011, MMI is used in Australia, Canada, United States, and United Kingdom by programs including medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry and even some medical residency programs. Recognizing the need for better MMI preparatory materials, this comprehensive DVD was developed by MSC MEDICAL. Health care professionals, students and actors are filmed as they go through every type of MMI station including: (1) standard (discussing ethical scenarios), (2) Acting (role playing with actors), (3) collaboration skills (collaborating with another applicant to complete a task), and (4) game/puzzle (giving and receiving directions). Each scenario has been filmed twice depicting two performance levels: (1) "average" and (2) "above average" performance. Additionally, every case has been thoroughly analysed and scored utilizing standardized score sheets.
