  • I'll answer a couple of the questions.

Two Wulfrunians survive as complete vehicles plus one chassis only.

Power Steering. No, it doesn't have power steering. I have actually driven the thing (I'm a member of the BCMTG) and the steering can be very heavy, especially with a full load of passengers.

  • Hi the other survivors are WHL 970 curently undergoing restoration and may be painted into West Riding red livery shortly.#

The chassis survives of the ex Bury Corporation example LEN 101 which may be restored and displayed as a static chasis in the future. The body was scrapped in 1993.

  • They did have electrical problems in their early years, the main power leads were relocated to run through the lower saloon bodywork. Also the brakes would overheat, boil the brake fluid and set on fire, this was resolved by using a mineral based brake fluid. I understand this very bus now runs on Citroen LHM fluid.

  • all gone even Goodyears is knocking down the Blue Chimney soon (only around 3oo still working there),i'll sup a pint of Banks's (Marstons ??)down the local PUBlic House wiv 'Mick the Wulf' the famous Brickie & hope my memories of Wolverhampton (home of the 1st Traffic Lights (Princes Square) stays with me,Lol (or am i ?)

  • Oh boy, this video has made me SO happy! The yellow demonstrator visited my area (Scotland) in the late fifties/early sixties and despite all my attempts, i NEVER got to ride on it. I recall people complaining of feeling sick because of the air-suspension but mostly I think they were just attention seeking.

What a pity this design came too late, for although the Leyland Atlantean was a fine vehicle, the quality of the Guy Motors product could have made it a world beater.

  • I've just GOT to get to this museum sometime this year

  • I tried to post this before: Am I right in thinking I saw 2 of the rear entrance Accrington Wulfrunians in a scrapyard by the A5, Northants area somewhere. 1968/9, can't be sure of exact date now.

  • I assume that is a Leyland. Many of these vintage double decker buses did end up getting modeled. I have ridden a double decker buses with St. Louis Metro, but it's no where near as grand as this one.

  • Guy wulfrunian is low entry ?I'M brazilian .No speaking english .The techicniacal data of guy wulfranian ,please .The floor is 300 mm or 400 mm

  • Very appropriate to see a Wulfrunian at Dudley. Not to far away from Wolverhampton were the chassis was built.

  • @Mitsugejl You're thinking of a pre-select. The gearbox on this vehicle (and I have actually driven it myself) selects the gear as soon as the lever is slotted into place. You might notice the driver pausing in neutral before selecting the next gear.

  • look at that steering wheel LOL!!!

  • Semiautomatic gearbox. Selection of gears is manual yes, but no clutchpedal beacuase the clutch is as far as i know hydraulic and actuated automatically when throttlepedal is either released or pressed down. In theory you can select 3rd gear while accelerating through 2nd and it will only shift the gears when the throttle is released. Cool invention i think :)

  • is that a manual gear?
