MTD Kingston Heir 5 (camera sucks, poor sound)

Just got this bass and I haven't been able to set it up until just recently. I also play a warwick and a musicman so I was in no hurry to do this. This bass plays beautifully

They all have their own personalities for sure. The Musicman is pretty good for almost everything with very little tinkering with the settings. Warwick double buck is a fantastic addicting bass. It is made small and contoured to really fit your frame. Sound is crazy and the neck is rock solid. Biggest problem with this bass and its a big one, is the Active/passive pre-amp takes sucks up the battery life in less than a week......... Horrible. The mtd is definitely a jazz/funk/fusion bass

The MTD Kingston Heir 5 plays great. If you are into old school R&B like jamerson type bass lines, this bass set up in its natural state will not do. In order to get that sound, you will have to do an extensive set up. Adjust truss rod and adjust the bridge. The bass funks great w/slap techniques, tap or fingerstyle. One of the best feeling and sounding basses I've played in a long time. The growl is unmistakable regardless of the amp which is sick. Xtra wide neck and string spacing.

Thanks for the great sound clip. If I could slow your hands down, I'd learn alot. Personally I am close to taking the plunge but remain on the fence about the value of the Heir.

What changes do you think are necessary to get that fender p-bass sound that you mention? I have two jazz basses and want to greatly expand my versatility with one bass before I go bankrupt!
