Atlanta, GA, August 31, 2009 Emissaries of the West African nation of Ghana converged with members of the Atlanta medical community for a rare visit to the Shepherd Center, a world-renowned leading catastrophic care hospital.
The delegation was led by Dr. Anthony Ossei in the official capacity as Manwerehene, Keeper of the Gold, to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the King of the Asante people of Ghana. The accomplished Ambassador Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder and Head of Mission of the Diaspora African Forum and Mahar Cooke, Chief of Youth for the village of Bonomansu rounded out the delegation.
Long admired for their contribution to the development of research in order to provide care and rehabilitation to people with spinal cord injury and disease, acquired brain injury and multiple sclerosis, the Shepherd Center is recognized as one of the top ten rehabilitation hospitals in the nation and considered a model to West African nations. With that, it was the obvious choice in planning the delegations itinerary while in Atlanta. Glenn Bean PR.
